I'm writing a book series. The series name is "Cataclysmica", hence the name of the blog. Shocker, huh? It should be a pretty fun ride.
I'm not sure if "series" is the right word. I'm creating a universe, and implanting a bunch of characters and stories and books. I don't really like the whole "series" mindset. When I read a book, I want to be able to read it from beginning to end and not have to wait 14 months for the next part to come out. I'll probably re-use characters and situations and settings, but I want every story to be self contained. If a new reader can jump in on my 14th Cataclysmica novel and not be totally lost, then I'm writing these right. Granted, reading all 14 will definitely give a fuller picture, but I don't want to force people to read those first 13. I don't want people to wait for the 14th to see how it's going to end, either.
Also in the poop-chute is to offer up both short stories and novels. The short stories will be totally free, and totally self-contained units. You won't need to read the novels to get to experience this amazing, terrifying, beautiful, and dangerous world.
Why? The best things in life are free.
I'm currently writing the first novel, named "The Billows". Keeping more secret, for now.
Before it's released, however, I'll put out 3 short stories. More on those, later, too.
I'm pretty excited. If you are reading this, or these books, just know that I love you. I don't care if you hate it, I appreciate you just taking the time to read my rambling, bad stories.
